The 4 Language Skills

When we learn a language, there are four skills that we need for complet communication. When we learn our native language, we usually learn to listen first, then
" to speak, then to read, and finally to write. These are called the four "language skills



Skill 1: Listening
Skill 2: Speaking
Skill 3: Reading
Skill 4: Writing

: The four language skills are related to each other in two ways

the direction of communication ) in or out )

the method of communication ) spoken or written )

" Input is sometimes called "reception

" and output is sometimes called "production

" Spoken is also known as "oral

In fact there are other skills for language learning
" such as Grammar and Pronunciation often called "micro-skills

But the 4 skills illustrated above are the main ones
and the ones that people usually mean when they refer to language skills

i agree that to learn any language then there are certain steps u have to follow before getting there.

one additional thing, practice and practice the language

read a lot, listen a lot, and don't be afraid to talk, and when u do mistakes, then this is the best way to LEARN, from littile mistakes


Finally, there is no langauge like Arabic lang.....it is always alive not like other languages which suffer a lot

Good subject,but i didn't follow these steps when i studied in aramco industrial center traning.
The result: i have english good language

شكرا الا بالمناسبه
أنا مستواي بالانقلش لابأس به أثناء دراستنا سنتين بمدارس أرامكوا تطورنا وبعد ما أشتغلنا أهملتها وكان استخدامي لها في نطاق ضيق ،،الايام هاااذي أحسست بأهمية تطوير مستواي
مع أني أمشي نفسي لكن أحتاج أن تكلم بمفردات جديدة وبجمل جديده أحيانا أريد أن أقول معنى معين أضطر لان أستخدم تركيب جمله مختلفه
ومن هنا ومن فتره طويله ،،عدة أشهر وأنا أبحث عن حل
قالي واحد ادرس في الجامعه العربيه>> لكن ما أقدر الا عن طريق انتساب وهذه الطريقه أظن ماتنفعني لانها تحتاج حضور وعملي مايسمح
،،المهم قالي واحد فيه برنامج لسننق عن طريق أشرطه وأسئله لايمكن تجاوبها الا اذا أستمعت للمحادثه الصوتيه والاشرطه هاااذي معها كتاب فيه أسئله تحلها من المحادثه الصوتيه >> أظن قال اسمه

for example , in the Company you can listen & speak English with the foreign officials
